Imagine the cost of this liquid, I can hardly afford helium at this point.

Why not just use the same CO2 filter system to re-oxygenate the blood. Divers could have their own blood extracted and put into a system the continually refreshes the blood with oxygen, glucose, and other vital chemicals.

This system will allow you to do what evwer your heart desires to do at extreme depth Into the abyss: The diving suit that turns men into fish - Science, News - The Independent

Hope fully on the market soon, for this seasons spearfishing.

Happy Diving
I would love to wear this suit if it would take away the problem of getting bends, but having a needle up your groin to take away the CO2 in your body ouch, I might pass on that one for now.

This is basically the function of the cardiopulmonary bypass machine we use for heart surgery. The current size and weight of this system is about the size of your average home entertainment center. Aside the invasive nature of femoral CPB, there is also significant medical risks of this bypass (such as the risk of cerebrovascular accidents, other embolic phenomena, as well as the need for severe anticoagulation with heparin or heparin like drugs.

I'd like to hear the experiences of the people who've done this, in their own words. What was it like getting that stuff out of your lungs? What was it like taking that first "breath"? Did you ever get dizzy? Panicky? Out of breath? What was it like when you tried to talk? It sounds like more than a few people have done this; does anybody here know any of them?

I know of about one hundred, but I doubt that any of them will remember, they were in the neonatal intensive care unit. :)

Reminds me of the movie of abyss, this guy is using the liquid oxygen too.

But what ever goes in those lungs has to come out. ;)

Hell id be willing to be a guinea pig for this lol.

Only Bud didn't have a scrubber "attached to the femoral artery" in order to scrub the CO2. He just had a convenient backpack. That whole permanent installation of a shunt in your femoral artery has a way of changing things.

When someone finds a reason to land on Jupiter or saturn where the atmosphere is much heavier than earth's as well as toxic, then NASA will perfect this system.

Interesting concept, but I would bet they would use something similar to the JIM suit in that situation (but who knows! It is fun to speculate).

Ok, here's the deal..we give you a bag of fluid, a pony of oxygen, a dive knife, a sponge fullof CO2 absorber, and first one back with a souvenir from the Titanic wins.
