Hey everybody, I hope you got to enjoy some of the amazing blue water we had this weekend off Miami.

I finally got around to buying tanks for my wife and I. I bought HP100s for myself, and AL80s for her since she uses less air than I do and has gotten pretty comfortable with them. I live near Kendall and the only two places close by that I know of that do Nitrox are Underwater Unlimited and Divers Direct. Underwater Unlimited does partial pressure blending and from what they told me, their compressor is only really capable of pushing 3500 psi which makes it hard to get a proper fill on an HP steel tank. Diver's Direct does EANx32 using a membrane system, and from what I've heard, isn't exactly clean air. Could you guys/gals offer up any insight into other local fill spots that offer Nitrox and any insight into their compressor capacity?

Thanks :)

While DD is not my favorite shop to get fills, I have never gotten a bad fill from any Diver's Direct store. Short yes, but never bad.

Jazzy, where are you diving? Most local dive shops can set you up with nitrox...

not really a question of partial pressure filling vs. membrane filling, but rather the maximum pressure that the compressor can deliver.

Another option is when you take your tanks in for a fill, ask them to fill them today, and top them off in the morning before you pick them up. This should get you pretty close to 3500psi.

Hi Jazzy. The following shops are not near you, but figure that others reading this thread could use these places for their Nitrox fills.

Jazzy I have been doing nitrox at did recently. I have not had any issues with my hp100s on getting a good fill just don't be in a rush. I have dove with some of the employees at DD and asked about the nitrox system and they said it was good and they were using the nitrox on the dive. I filled my 100s on Saturday after my dive and got good psi.

Divers Den closed the store in March. They are building a new HH Greg in that spot.

I don't know if Austins will ever get Nitrox. They have been saying 2 months for the past year.
