Some great time ago, I was a involved with long distance running. I occured to me that most of the people that I was running with (myself included) were addicted to the endophin high. Do divers get the same way with Nitrogen Narcossis? Just wondering. How about it trimixer? :tease: Any thoughts?

Aren't all the addicted ones still on their way to the bottom of the Monterey Canyon to see how deep it is??? :D

Sounds like a self-curing addiction :)

I think the answer is YES.
The problem is that by diving deep you get used to the feeling of narcosis and you have to go deeper to get that feeling back again. THE TRICK IS NOT TO GIVE IN.
Trimex will not induce the same because of the reduced amount of nitrogen.
I am not sure if you are a diver or not( given your nickname) but narcosis is a great way of getting drunk without the hangover effects. The nice thing is that by ascending a bit the effects are gone, the disadvantage is that it can hit you like a 40 tonne truck and you haven't got a clue where you are or what you are doing.
I have experienced on a 35 mtr dive in Holland that a wreck came of the bottom and sailed away and I would have sworn in court that that is what I saw!!
The second thing to watch out for is O2 toxicity so be carefull and make sure you know what you are doing.

The sadistic dentist in Little Shop of Horrors as played by Steve Martin. He was addicted to laughing gas. Does that count?
