I just bought the docking station for my Nitek He. I’m running version 3.06 of NiTek Logic connected using the serial cable on a Win XP machine. When I try to upload information from my dive computer to my desktop or laptop I get an err message at the end of the transfer.

“Access violation at address 00200001. Read of address 00200001.”

Pressing [OK] dismisses the warning dialog box. Dive Rite says this is not a problem and that I should just dismiss the dialog every time it comes up. Ignoring it because it does not mean there is a problem.

How many of you Nitek He owners have this problem?

The software is buggy. I've spoken to Dive Rite about this. In fact, if you have the time polling set at anything other than 30 seconds, it will really be thrown off, because the software will load the data as if the polling were 30 seconds. So, if you had polling at 15 seconds, then everything is doubled. You end up with a 120 minute graphed dive when the dive time itself says 60 minutes.

Many people get the access violation error messages. Sometimes it does nothing, other times it screws everything up.

Bottom line is, the software is not ready for general release. It's still in an alpha testing stage at best.

I'm working with Dive Rite and testing the software right now, in hopes that some good feed back will help quickly solve the problems. Since I run a programming department and have beta tested software for years, I'm pretty good at telling what is wrong.

The cradle cost 150.00 and the software is a free download. After readying Xanthro post about the bogginess of it I wonder if I made a wrong decision on purchasing this.

The cradle is cheesy it is nothing more then a box with 2 copper flathead screws that are spring loaded for contacts and an elastic band to keep the He pressed down to them. That is what you get for $150.00.

If someone wants to try and make one for themselves, I can take some pics of the inside for you.
