Fellow bubble blowers,
I am attempting to do some custom flash interfacing for my underwater housing (a DX-D200) which has the Nikonos V type 5 pin connector. I'm trying to find a source for the mating cable connector and not having much luck.
Nikon support was useless: "Unfortunately that information would have to be ascertained from a third party vendor as we no longer have this information available."
Sea and Sea hasn't bothered to answer my communications yet.
Ikelight, who makes a delrin version of the connector said that they don't sell just the connector. I'd have to buy (an expensive) cable and cut one end off.
I could certainly get an existing cable and cut an end off for my prototype, be it new or used, but that will be expensive and that will add up quickly if I want to do more than one cable. Heaven forbid I should want a spare... or worse, sell them to others.
Anyone got any ideas? I have cables that have the three pin version on them (no TTL) but I've already looked. No manufacturer information on them that I can see.
Maybe even just "alternate" names for the connectors? That might help the search. "Nikonos" is actually a Nikon brand. The real manufacturer of the connector would likely call them something else.
Thanks for your wisdom.
Steve
