I have a D70s in an ikelite housing with two ikelite 125 strobes. The whole system works great when I have the strobes set on TTL, 1/2 or 1/4. But when I set the strobes to full power, the strobes fire but the light does not show up in the picture. I've tried several shutter speeds, etc. Do I have something set wroung? Thanks in advance for your help.

What shutter speeds have you tried? If your shutter speed is working with 1/2 and 1/4 power, full should work as well.

I've tried shutter speeds of 1/125 and 1/100. Yeah... I was thinking the same thing that if it works on the other settings it should work on full. The only thing that I can think of is if the strobe somehow fires early when it is on full. Or maybe it is some setting in the camera. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Maybe the strobe is screwed up? Has it ever worked on full power?

There's no reason it shouldn't work, you're doing everything right as far as I can tell.

You need to make sure your TTL controller on the housing is set for TTL or manual, depending on what mode you want to use the strobes in. If set for TTL, you need to set the strobe dial to TTL. If you wish to use manual strobe power settings, you must also set your TTL controller on the housing to manual, otherwise it may not sync properly.

Also keep in mind that if the strobe connected to the black cable end is not functioning (i.e. battery dead, for example) both strobes will not work.

Thank you - Warren-L. Thats what it was. I didn't realize that I had to set the controls in the housing to manual in addtion to the controls on the strobes. The strobes sync perfectly fine once you do this.

To change form TTL to any manual setting:
#1 set switch on strobes from TTL to full power or any of the manual settings
#2 hold down both buttons on the TTL controller in the housing until the light beside the M lights up (not the light by the TTL)

Thanks for your help. I knew it was operator error.

No problem. Glad it worked out. I'm a bit surprised it worked in some of the manual settings even with the housing controller still set on TTL.
