I just got mine at the beginning of the month, the house is yet to arrive.
The greatest things are (IMHO):
- The different custom settings, you can save one wide-angle, one macro and one portrait, and one sports settings for example.
- The big LCD, you can even easily check for backscatter!!!;
- Dynamic Focus options;
- WB fine tuning, when you need JPGs straight away (championships) I usually shoot the first dive in RAW, then in the NX I find the nice WB tune for the different shots.
- USE the 10.5mm get dome-touching close, pointing up and be careful with strobe position.

As soon as I get the housing will post some first shots.
Good luck!

Try Tom Hogan's book on the 300, very informative. Got mine for the 51 point focus system, better high ISO performance and larger screen. Planning a trip to costa rica and Feb, hopefully I'll have housing by then to do some available light photography using magic filters. If not then the D70 will have to go along.

Been shooting mine UW...what do you need to know? It's made like a tank. I got photos if you need to see....samples are from Nikkor 10.5 Fisheye, Tokina 10-17 Fisheye, Sigma 18-50 HSM Macro, 60mm AF-S Macro and 105 VR macro.

I use a Sea & Sea system with TTL converter and 2 YS-110 strobes behind a combination of ports. My new YS-110 alphas should be here Monday.

My advice if you are new to UW shooting is to go with the 60 and play with portraits and macro. get a feel for it. DO consider a larger viewfinder. I use the 45 degree one from Nexus on my Sea & Sea rig. Once you are happy with portraits and macro on the 60, try the WA with the Tokina.....

save the 105 for last. Can be tricky.... especially if used with diotpers

Yeap both of them, the big one in Atlantis Hotel at Palm Jumeirah (the first of the palms in ocean) and the smaller one (which is pretty big) at the new Dubai Mall, close to Burj Dubai (the biggest building and man made structure on Earth...).

I am not sure about diving in them, in the Atlantis one you can swim with dolphins.

Just ordered it the other day and it's on the way, just curious if you have any tips for me. thanks, Scott

D300 is a great cam as the others have commented. Had mine since Feb (my first DSLR) but was wondering if you had considered the D700 since you have just recently bought it? Mine housed in SnS with YS90Duo and YS110a strobes.

I shoot the D300 with Subal housing.. I really like the camera.. The only thing that threw me was it defaults to ISO 200 where my D200 was ISO 100 for my underwater shots so my settings are off from what I used with my D200. Once I realized this, switching to L.1 is the same as the ISO 100 and the same settings I used on the D200 work.
