nikon coolpics bit the dust what next????

thinking about going with a canon s model or a gopro hero3 black. I know the video is probably superior on the gopro but the macro photography is superior with the canon. Anything out there with the best of both world that wont break the bank?

GoPro vs. still cameras is a tough comparison. The GoPro cannot shoot stills on par with a good compact camera. Plus it is a very wide angle lens, so it will not do great macro video. The GoPro is a "Hero Camera" and is great at what it does, wide angle, sweeping shots.

So you have to decide what is more important to you Video or Stills. Cameras like the Sony RX100II, Canon S series, etc… shoot 1080 HD Video and excellent stills.

Canon S series shoots excellent video, better video than Go Pro I think.
