We got a 61 minute dive out of it, but it wasn't because of the viz. My daughter has a line more or less permanently written on her slate that says "viz sux!" She was pointing at it a lot. We swam out to about number 7 and dropped, intending to go further out for a while then turn and slowly make our way back in, but we turned a lot sooner than intended because we kept losing each other in the soup. On the trip back we wound up out on the sand, where we found a nice foot-long pipefish and a teeny tiny octopus, among many other critters. With the exception of one moderate-sized rainbow, there seemed to be a complete absence of nudibranchs; we found none at all on the rocks. Oh well, this was the first octo we've found all summer, so at least we get to go home saying we didn't get octo-skunked!

I'll have some pictures up on my photobucket page later today.
