Newport Dive Sites:

Hello,

I am on a month-long business trip in Newport and am hopeful to do some diving while I am here. Can anyone suggest dive sites near Newport and/or a place where I can cheaply rent a BC/wetsuit/cylinder/and fins. All that I managed to fit in my luggage from Texas were my regs and mask.

Any suggestions?

though it isn't the place it used to be, I've dove Newport (well a few hundred yards away from the breakwater). So that is also doable if your plans don't even allow for even a few minutes travel. Otherwise I completely suggest you head for Laguna, only about 15 minutes car ride (or less with less traffic).
