Went there in January with a friend doing her first ocean dives, and really liked them. Told DM "Ishmel" it was her first time after certification, and he held her hand through both dives! (It took both of us to take care of her at first. :big grin
He was on standby the next morning, so she hired him for one on one care. I thought this was a good idea for a new diver, especially with the depths and currents we were doing; y'all might consider hiring your own DM, since you are both new. He was on that afternoon, but had a light load, so he still watched her closely. We also tipped well.
They do two tanks on one trip in the morning, take you back for the free lunch, then do two more that afternoon. Losts of diving, but they take such good care of you, loading your gear, tanks, etc, changing your tanks for you, and all - very tip oriented, and worthy! Four a day may or may not be good for you, though?
Don't take chances! Their big boats are quite nice and roomy, although hard to steer. Don't let it run you over when they pick you up; just be ready to push back a bit. They're so close to the good sites that the ten minute warning is done FIVE MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING THE DOCK.
Be sure to close your mouth when you shower, brush your teeth with the bottled water brought to your room, and - this is serious - :sunny: take your own light bulbs. They use very dim ones, leaving the rooms too dark. Oh yeah, take a couple of extension cords with multi outlets.
The place is quite nice, albeit a little plastic, and the food is good & plentiful. There's nothing else around you there, so I'd go to Dive, Dive, Dive. :slick:
When you get back, talk to your LDS about Advanced & Nitrox training. Even more fun!
Happy bubbles, D-Don
