Hi. I am a new diver, still have to take my certification dive, but looking for a new dive buddy. The guy I was dating, who was a diver, broke up with me, so now I have noone to play with. I live in South Jersey which isn't really a dive meca. So I am hoping to find someone to dive with..... tho I am signed up for a dive trip to the Honduras in November. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Drop me line if you want....

Welcome to the hobby. I am in a similar boat to you! Awaiting my nearing OW cert.

Just wanted to say welcome to the board and good luck on your cert and finding a bud.

Hi Erin - welcome to SB. If you ever needed support to continue diving you'll find it here - probably quite a few buddies as well.
I'm not that good on USA geography, but isn't New Jersey on the east coast up near New York? If it is then I suppose you'll be talking cold and murky dry-suit diving there! If you have the stomach for it and get the right training I believe that there are a lot of wrecks in that area.

On the other hand - if you are like me and only want the warm stuff - Honduras sounds like a good plan!! :D

Welcome to the board. This is an international forum so I must ask by South Jersey, do you mean as in the Isle of Jersey http://www.gov.je/ or the State of New Jersey http://www.state.nj.us/ in the USA?

If the latter, then be sure to drop down to the Regional Travel & Dive Clubs then select North America and then United States and then Wreck Valley which covers NJ and NY or click here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=84

Either way, I will wager there is more local diving as you are near an ocean than you might think. Be sure to fill out your profile so we will know a wee bit more about you including where you are in the world.

Now about the other thing. I would be happy to travel and share diving adventures, go for long walks on the beach or in the park, snuggle under a blanket and read together by the fire with an attractive female. Unfortunatly, my wife of 30 years is not real keen on the idea. :11: So I can only offer my emotional support for you and that you will find a better guy out there.

:diver: :jump013: :diver: Hi there Erin, My name is Matt. Welcome to the Board! You should enjoy it here, you will find lots of information about diving. You can also meet many nice people too. Safe Diving.

No experience needed and it feels great!

Howdy there, and welcome to ScubaBoard.com!!

You have certainly come to the right place, for Scuba in general and making new diving friends in particular. We have enough ladies in Scuba overall that y'all can feel more comfortable in the dive groups than years ago when it was almost all men and more easily find other lady divers as buddies, but if you're interested in male buddy possibilities - you'll still find a good range of possibilities as we still outnumber y'all overall.

In particular, you may find this forum of particular interest: ScubaBoard.Com > Regional Travel & Dive Clubs> Non-Geographic Clubs> Scuba Singles. :jump013:

And please do check out our New Divers & Those Considering Diving forum.

have fun don :cowboy2:
