Hello everyone, I'm new here and to diving. We just got certified last week, my husband, 11 year old grandaughter and I. We havent been on an official dive yet, but are looking forward to it. We're from No. Illinois and have a place in Florida where we plan to do the diving. Hope to learn lots of tips around here.

Hi and welcome to the board! Diving with the kids is great! On a recent trip to Cozumel we had two 11 yr olds and a 12yr old with us. It was so fun seeing the excitement in their eyes and watching them gain experience as they went from arms flailing and going up and down as they tried to control their bouyancy, to just cruising over the reefs like the fish themselves. Have fun!

Hello from Matt,

Welcome to ScubaBoard ! :1poke: I came here to look for help with my scuba diving dream and the response has been fantastic. So, I know you will enjoy being a member here.
There are a lot of nice and informative scuba divers. It's a good place to meet other divers and share experiences and dreams. Take care from Matt. :snorkels:

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Congratulations to all of you on your new certifications!

You are also close to the Great Lakes. I understand that there is some great diving there. It could be a good place to practice your skills, which would make your trips to Florida even more enjoyable!

Check out the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum to find out about your local activities and other people in your area who you may be able to learn a great deal from.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hey thanks everyone. When we first started the classes I was so worried about Emily, but she took off like a fish so after that I calmed down and was ok. We're taking her to Dive Quest at Epcot in Nov, that should be fun for her. Then we hope to dive on the cruise that trip too.
