I am planning on getting certified soon, but decided to learn to swim first.
After 36 years of no diving, Last year I went snorkeling in Alaska. (Snorkel Alaska, Ketchikan). I Bought an underwater Camera Housing For my Digital Camera and took pictures. I absolutely loved it. However I could not hold my breath long enough to compose a good shot. So I decided to get back into Scuba. Originally planned to use the, snorkel exemption Plan towards Certification. But now have reconsidered that.

Uh, yeah - learning to swim is good. :silly: Or if you mean with the fins, mask, mouthpiece - yep, good practice altho I wonder about snorkeling Alaska even now. :11: Good that you decided to learn scuba, but don't follow that camera too close...!
