Hello,

Pardon my ignorance. I just got my first plate and wing setup. It's an Oxycheq Mach V that does not require a single tank adapter.

Do I need to buy those stainless steel screws and nuts to attach my wing to the plate, or do I simply use two tank straps to secure the plate, wing, and tank together?

Thanks in advance.

If the slots in your plate lines up with the slots in the wing, then you can just run the tank straps through both. My Oxycheq wing came with small plastic "sex" bolts that I use to keep the wing in place, but they're not necessary. Also, if the heads of the bolts you use protrude too far, they may interfere with the tank resting on the the "flat" of the plate. So in my very limited experience, I'd say just give the tank straps a try.

another option to look into is an sta, or single tank adapter. (try searching for sta* - you have to use a wildcard for a search of less than four letters.)

that's what i did when i dove singles, and i really liked it.

I guess I should have explained that I too have an Oxycheq wing on a DSS SS backplate and that it works really well without STA. I have however looked longingly at the new light weight DSS STA with the permanently attached straps - sorry, looked for the link, but can't find it on Tobin's site.

Reason; while the tanks supports built into the Oxycheq wing work well once the tank straps are tightened down, I still have to be careful to have the tank aligned correctly with the spine of the BP. An STA would make that a non-issue.
