I just bought a new mask and recall a post on this board that someone had mentioned that there is some knid of film on the inside of the mask that needs to be removed with toothpaste?????? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

rinse mask with clean fresh O2, rub with toothpaste, rinse. It's that simple my friend.
Enjoy your new mask:crafty:

I would do it a couple times. Softscrub (sp?) also works well.

Make sure it isn't gel toothpaste!! lol That stuff doesn't work. To check your work, rinse the mask under cold water (like the stuff you'll be diving in locally!! ;) ), spit in it, rinse it gently again, and throw it on your face. If you don't get condensation on the inside, (the stuff on the outside will whipe away with your finger...or the water when you're diving), you done good! lol If you do...repeat the toothpaste process until you don't.

Cheers,
Austin

Whoa....Hopefully you checked that you CAN use an abrasive on the mask! (i.e. SeaVision masks)

When I bought my mask I was told to not use anything abrasive because of the color correcting lenses...In fact you can't use 500psi defog in them because there's a light abrasive.

Just throwing that out there for anyone that may be reading this!

Keep rubbing the mask with mask/slate cleaner or non-gel toothpaste. Keep rubbing until your fingerprints are removed from your finger then you have completed the cleaning.

That's why I like to actually use a toothbrush to do the work for me, Andy..;). Then again...maybe you're onto something with the whole fingerprint removal thing...hmmmmmm...

Cheers,
Austin
