Hey guys(&gals)
im new to the forum. I have been scuba diving about 25 time but am embaresed to say never got certified. always did the one day course thing.(never found the time)
i work weekend and get out late during the week so its real hard.
But i would love to do it. i have a passion for diving(always have) and have now gotten into videography. Im in south florida so there is some of the best diving in the world here.

Hi there,

Welcome! I did about 12 intro dives with a DM before taking a cert course. Wouldn't recommend it, but think the experienced enriched the cert course. Certainly learned important safety details in the course that I didn't know before. Knowledge that could save my life and that made me a little scared of my past dive experience. Hope you are diving with an experienced certified diver and not going too deep. I strongly suggest a class, even online if nothing else. If it is impossible, at the very least, skim through a dive book, take a look at safety procedures, and learn about potential dangers from breathing/ascent rates. Good to confess lack of certification but I suspect experienced divers & instructors on this site will stress safety & cert programs more than I did if they read you post. SCUBA is dangerous and people do die so take care.

I grew up in Miami but left for California in 86. Miss the warm water of the keys. It's beautiful but not the best in the world ;-) - you still have so much to look forward to! I snorkeled lots in the keys but no scuba. Hope to visit my family soon and check it out.

Be safe!

welcome aboard

Thanks for the welcome.
kathydeee I glad im not the only one. And thanks for your concern.
I understand what youre saying about other divers having problems with it.
Safety has always been my number one concern. I have read the dive book, and took notes of safety procedures. I an extremely aware of the dangers of scuba, i have been made aware by the dive masters i did my dives with.
I failed to mention that ALL of my dives have been with certified dive masters. NOT friends or anything of the sort.

As far as other divers having a problem with it, id actually be glad to hear it.
It just shows that they care enough to warn people, and that's great.
Too many people today just go about their business, not concerning themeselves with others.

Yeah i did go overboard, but we still have some great diving & conditions here.
