Welcome to Scubaboard!

I'd suggest looking a the Alberta Underwater Council (Alberta Underwater Council). They have a few events each month. You could also try Wing Divers, a club that does dives in Twin Lake not far from Edmonton (https://www.facebook.com/groups/Twin.Lake.Divers/).

I would highly recommend a drysuit for local diving, some make do with a 7mm, but it's pretty cold without a drysuit, you'll have a lot more fun if your warm and dry.

In any event have fun and dive safe!
