Hey,

I'm Alicia, I've just come back to Australia after backpacking around S.E Asia for 6 months. I got my Open Water in July in the Perhentian Islands (Malaysia), and absolutely fell in love with diving. I managed to rack up 33 dives on my trip and also get my Advanced Open Water.

My most memorable dive so far was on the Perhentian Islands, when we did a drift dive, if was just me and the DM, we saw two turtles and were under for 70minutes, it was fantastic.

I've already decided I'm going to do my divemaster, so I'm currently residing in Perth, WA until I have the cash for the gear and the course (I also have to complete my Rescue Diver in the meantime, which Im planning to do in the next month or so).

Great to "meet" everyone, look forward to talking to you all, and hopefully, doing some diving with you too!

Cheers,
Alicia

Welcome! Sorry to hear you don't live near any good diving. ;)

Good luck in your continued diving and learning.

Make sure while you're in WA to make the long trip up to Ningaloo. Definitely worth it!

Im considering going up there at the end of October, but wondering if I should wait and go during whale shark season, any recommendations?

I'd wait if it's a choice of going October vs then. Unfortunately, I wasn't there during whale shark season. I was there exactly a year ago, so nearly the same time as you were thinking of going...and loved it. The Navy Pier is an incredible dive, one of the best I've ever done anywhere, and is considered one of the top ten dives in the world.
