Hello!

I'm a beginner diver but fell in love with diving! I did my first dives in Thailand and have been diving in the Caribbean - and Egypt on a liveaboard since then.
Diving for me means leaving the hectic surface entering a wide and open unknown space with most spectacular living creatures!
It's one of the best sports I can imagine and I'm doing it way too little, but during vacations, I try to spend as much time as possible under water.

I gladly discovered the forum by accident during my research for a liveaboard in Indonesia / Raya Ampat and I learned so much here!
Thank you for having me here!

Welcome to SB

Always wanted to dive in Egypt. Were you able to see an ancient ruins? If so what outfit did you dive with?

Welcome aboard!

what part of Scandinavia? I spent a little time in Sweden many years ago, and even less time in Norway and Finland.... I thoroughly enjoyed all of my trips over there.

Any ancient ruins in Egypt will be on land.

Wow, I'm jealous that your first dive was in Thailand....my bucket list. The group I dive with just, we just got back from Cozumel Mexico. But they have many other trips planned.

Oh Wow I didn't expect this much engagement with my posting :D
But thank you for your warm welcome!

Well, my first dives I did in Thailand on Koh Tao over new years 2016/2017, SSI open water and advanced.
Since then I dove in Caribbean / Dominican Republic 2017, Sri Lanka 2019, Egypt 2019 and Thailand again 2023. And now It will be Bali. Tulamben is booked as well as Raya Ampat liveaboard. And I'm open for more recommendations!

@Ballyhoo In Egypt, I've been on a liveaboard with Emperor in Hurghada. It was an interesting experience with lots of marine life, wrecks, my first night dives - and learning that getting a cold might stop you from diving. :D

@bradlw I'm located in Sweden! I love to be in nature, but haven't managed to go diving here yet. But that's definitely on my to-do list! Did you manage to go diving while you were over here?

Welcome! I've heard Raja Ampat is one of the premiere dive locations in the world.

No diving for me. I did get out on a coworker's sailboat once for a nice sail, though. I worked for the US division of a company based near Hudiksvall, a little town called Iggesund. Went over there several times and would stay long enough to have plenty of free time. always enjoyed it there
