Hello everyone. Looks like there's a lot of Chicago area divers out there! You can add me to the list, although I'm new to scuba, I really enjoy it so far!

I'm looking forward to finishing my cert dives in April/May and then getting drysuit certified. Seems as thought it's a bit cold for anything else if you dive regularly this far north. Looking forward to meeting some dive buddies on this forum and jumpi ng:bounce: into Lake Michigan this spring.

adios!!

welcome aboard!

You may want to check out the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum. It is a group of divers from the states surrounding the Great Lakes. This is probably the best way for you to meet dive buddies in the area. Oh, and welcome!

Welcome to the rest of the world!

Tell us a little more about yourself - what got you interested in diving and where are you doing your check-out dives?

I've done quite a bit of snorkeling over the last couple of years, because my wife and I like to vacation in the carribean. Getting pretty bored with looking at everything from the surface. Plus the concept of swimming with the fishes is just downright cool.

Planning on doing my checkout dives at Pearl lake. Yeah, I know I should have done this when in Cozumel last month....doh! That last trip is what really gave me the scuba bug. My best friend went on four dives over two days and I was stuck snorkeling. No more!

The vis at Pearl leaves something to be desired, but topside is nice. Good luck and let us know the conditions after you do the dives.
