Well here I am not even certified yet but working on it. I have already figured out that I want my own gear real soon. I'm probably asking for trouble and I know that opions are like ---holes.....everybody has one and some smell worst than others, but I need suggestions for a BC and Reg. Remember I'm new but want gear that will hold me over until I get more experience. A dive computer is next on my list and wet suit. Going on western caribean cruise in Oct.
All help will be appreciated.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

Some accessory suggestions for every diver. A Safety Sausage, a Storm Whistle, and 3 weight belt keepers for when you have to use one.

You are going to be so glad you found this board. I have been diving for 16 years, yet have learned so much in the short time I have been on SB.

As for gear, I highly recommend renting for a while so that you can try out different types of equipment. If you really must buy something, buy a comfortable mask and your own computer - just make sure it works on air and nitrox in case you want to go that way in the future.

Welcome to SB!

Hello and welcome to scuba board. I asuggest your ead some of the threads in the equipment area and then post your own as a way to get an informed view of what to buy.
All the best.

Hi,

Entirely agree with K! I started diving this year and I have bought mask + diving computer. The first you will enjoy for snorkeling too and I think it is nice to get used to your own. Computer will be basic for security reasons. I have been diving in Cuba this summer and found some regulators were not in perfect conditions so in a near future I will consider this as my next purchase.

I think the board is great and helped me with the computer election.

Good dives!

Welcome to the board. I agree with the above advice - everybody's got an opinion, but you really need to try some different configurations to see what you like best.

Just relax, get some dives in, and see what seems to fit/work best.

Take care,
Grier

Bienvenidos, Welcome. Sorry, can't help you with any gear choices, I still don't have my own.

Heya and welcome to the ScubaBoard.... This is a great place to get any info you may need. My suggestion on buying equipment, buy it piece at a time, it wont hurt as bad
