Whatever you get, get something you will be able to dive with for at least the next few years.
There have been a few posts here with statements like, "I just want a basic computer for now..."
Well, that will cost you $200-$300. Not a bad price, but when you out grow it in a year or so you will need to spend more money, at least $300-$400 to upgrade.
Okay, now after upgrading you decide you want to move your computer to your wrist. Well if you got the right one you can swap it out of the console to a wrist strap. If you didn't get the right one you will have to spend yet more money on another computer.
The point is, a more advanced and versatile computer can be used to do simple dives as well as more complex dives and be mounted in many different ways, but a computer with less features and one that is dedicated only to be mounted in a console will be limiting and more likely to be replaced.
FYI... I have an Aeris Elite hoseless AI.
