I was wondering about that:

Price goes up quite a bit - to over $900. Here's a way to look at pretty much all your options - they'll give you the flights and costs but you book thru the airlines or a travel agent:

Matrix - ITA Software

previously I went RDU to EWR to BON - I noticed now the only option was RDU - IAH-BON -

that is where the confusion came in.

I have never used Matrix before, always used Kayak - although I had to laugh that the cheapest flight was RDU to CLT to AUR to CUO to BON - that is one hell of a way to get there!!

Did you notice that RDU-AUA is $431 on Delta - 6AM Saturday departure - 12:26 arrival.

There's a DAE flight - home - Fly DAE - to Bonaire at 1500 that puts you on Bonaire at 16:45. $220 r/t.

But 3 hrs. layover in Curacao on the return.

6+ hrs. each way thru Atlanta - not counting the connecting time from BON-AUA.

I take the Newark flight in June & December.
The flight out of Newark leaves only on Saturday, at 11:55 pm.
I'm here in Bonaire now, it's been absolutely beautiful for the past 2 weeks. Sorry to say have to return this Sunday with their 6am flight back to Newark.
Have a great trip.

I actually realized I have enough miles with Delta to cover the trip - only takes 50,000 or 42,500 depending on what airport I leave from. I was shocked it didn't take more - continental requires 70,000. Free airfare to bonaire means more money for beer:D

Amen!

I just booked our EWR to BON for theDNY Invades Bonaire trip. Fri red eye $704 on Kayak. Kept watching till we saw it drop a bit. Went right back up the next day I saw.

Not as much left for beer, but at least I don't have to deal with Houston again!! This last June we missed the connect there and thought we'd never get home.
NOTE TO SELF: Do NOT ever again, try to fly through Houston on the weekend of the 4th of July, ever. :shakehead:

At least you didn't wait until the next day and have somebody back into the plane with a portable toliet cleaner and put a whole in the fuselodge while it sat on the tarmac in Bonaire.

:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:
Only, because I $@#&ed-up the dates booking the air, and had to leave a day early, through Houston, instead of returning through EWR where we departed. None us did all that well returning home last year!!! :shakehead:

We've always taken the Saturday 11:55 pm flight in past, but no Saturday flight available for our May 2011 trip. They changed to EWR friday 11:55pm, return flight leaving Saturday 6:00am.:cool2:

Same here. We almost always took the Sat red eye from EWR to BON. Couldn't find anything on Sat, except through Houston, for this coming Junne's DNY Invades Bonaire. That scared me a bit, then we discovered the red eye is now Fri. I think this is going to be even better for us than the Sat flights. Almost hate to admit that for once an airline did something right.
