Hello, we will be on Bonaire over the holidays and wondered where to celebrate New Years Eve. Does anyone have any suggestions? My 24 year old son especially interested in a fun place. Thanks!

Our idea of "a fun place" is to sit in a chair with cocktail in hand and watch the fireworks. Any of the resorts along the shore in Kralendijk are great locations for this. You son's idea of fun might be to hang out at City Cafe, Karel's Beach Bar, or maybe even the all night party at Sense. Bring earplugs if you're staying anywhere near town... the fireworks will continue until dawn!

We'll be there for New Year's as well. I would suggest making reservations or at least calling to see what restaurants are open. A number of places are closed...It Rains Fishes, Unbelievable, etc.

I find a beer in hand and cruising down the main walk along the water in town is a pretty good time, especially if people are out and about - as I imagine they would be on NYE.

Head to Habitat for Jack's fireworks and music session. The entire island is rocking as the purchase of fireworks is legal. Every street corner sells an ammunition. It's quite outrageous. On the 31st local businesses have a Pagara, a long line of firecrackers lit of to bring in good luck. The biggest is at Kooyman, Tung Fong, Caribbean Laundry, City Cafe and Napa.
