Hi I'm bguyer,

Having just entered this thread, I have a question about purchasing a new compass. I am planning to purchase a new Oceanic compass, with the large N directional arrow, for easy visibility when navigatiing. My problem is that I have a Sherwood console and do not know if the compass will fit? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to :sblogo:

First of all, talk to your LDS and they will be able to tell you if the compass will fit in your console. Now is where others may disagree....I purchased my first compass with my dive computer several years ago so it was attached to my computer (which is obviously not wireless). It worked well but was always just a little uncomfortable....I am usually the one navigating in crappy conditions because my buddy usually pulls the flag so I would constantly be yanking the computer in front of me so that I could see my course. Looking back (and it is still not corrected), I wish I had purchased a wrist mount compass. Again, talk to your LDS and see what they say. This is just how I wish I had gone initially....it is much easier to navigate comfortably if you dive with your arms resting in front of you.

welcome aboard. I agree with Steve go wrist mount and talk to a few LDSs.
