I wonder how many people don't buy Halcyon stuff because on one hand they haven't been through DIR-F, but on the other hand they don't want to hear crap from everyone who has ever been alienated by the DIR thing.Hank49:

At least the first group wouldn't be sheep. By definition someone who wasn't DIR (or wasn't DIR yet) not wanting to sport the big H would almost be anti-sheep.
But I guess it was a predictable response.

Hi All, I'm not DIR and my BC is an Eclipse. Gotta say I was a bit worried about people thinking I was something I'm not, or a wanna be. So far though, I've not had any comments from anyone other than my LDS and instructor. They don't sell Halcyon and would not have recommended a BP/W for me in any case. I LOVE my BC.

I'm not one to worry about what name is on the gear I buy. I want good stuff. If I can afford it, I want the best stuff. That's not the same as the most expensive stuff. From what I have seen the "H" BP/W seem to be best, though it is more expensive. So be it. I'll be tooling around in my Explorer and Pioneer regardless of what others have to say.
To each his own.
There are a number of people around me who will NOT buy Halcyon gear for philosophical reasons, sentimental reasons, or because they don't want to be seen a sheep. The first two, I understand. The last one, ridiculous.

Finally. Got it in the water Saturday. But just before I got in it was kind of cloudy and gloomy. Well, I geared up in the boat while my friend was fishing and as I slipped on the Halcyon BP and Pioneer wing....there was like this resonating G cord in the air, that sounded like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir coupled with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. And then the sun shone through the clouds.....Even the tarpons were impressed as this school of about 30-40 just came and hung out as if to say, "dude, totally *****in' gear"...But it was nice, seriously. All I read was true. I take back everything I ever thought or said negative about DIR. This definitely was the best set up I have dived. Trim was no effort. I'm a convert. 'Nuf said. Hank
