I just joined the scubaboard today. I live in north Houston and I am looking for a quality and economical certification course. Any information will be helpful.

Thanks,

Carla

quality and economical certification course

Carla, which is more important to you:

Quality or Economical?

I'm not saying you can't have both -- just asking.

Diving is a great activity BUT it is in a "foreign environment" -- and as I said to someone the other day, the water doesn't care how well trained you are. The water treats everyone equally -- it is your training that responds to the water.

YMMV

Carla,

If you lived in Austin, I could give you the names of outstanding instructors. Some are Padi, Naui and others SSI. Look at it this way, the gear is the same and the water is the same. Any of the major training agencies will do a good job in teaching you the basics of scuba. Give the Texas Swamper's in Houston a chance to chime in and post your question there.
