Hi everyone!:D

New guy here. I moved to the east coast about 6 months ago from Cali and just got my girl her classroom/pool certification last weekend for XMas from Dive Quarters in VB. We are planning a trip to south florida next month to complete her open water and february dive some sinkholes in central florida after a trackday at Jennings.

I was certified 23yrs ago and had 8 dives back then. I was land locked for alot of that time in the southwest and just didn't have the time or funds to chase this dream. I dove a dozen times a few years back in Hawaii and plan on taking the plunge full-on now since we live a few mile from the ocean.

We are getting all new gear for both of us and plan on doing alot of diving this next year.:eyebrow:

My hobbie/background is street riding the Sierra Nevadas, road racing with the AFM and instructing high performance motorcycle riding for Doug Chandlers TrackCrafters trackdays in Cali. :cool2:

We are both self employeed now and looking to spend alot of time in the water the second half of our lives. I just ran across this forum while searching for new gear reviews and thought I would say HEY!

Hey,
I am from the beach as well. There is some good diving on some wrecks out there. Tidewater has a number of good dive shops that don't require a lot of driving to get to. I would recommend updating your training as there have been a few advances in diving since you last dove. Welcome to the board and go diving.

Thanks James. Yeah its changed alot since the 80s. I sat through the classroom portion of K8 (my GF) PADI certification and will be taking a refresher course and then jump into advance training in february once we get K8 refurral cert done down in the keys at the end of January.

Looking forward to diving the wrecks!:D

HEY THERE !!! I had a stepson that loved dirt bike racing and still does!! He is 18 now and buys, trades and sells bikes as he rebuilds them. He has won several small races and now he is college wanting to be a mechanical engineer so he can design and build his own and have a shop of his own one day. He really enjoys the building and mechanical part more but was "convinced" to learn the other side too.....welcome to the board and enjoy!!!!

Thanks RS and RP! Yep the bikes are addicting. My girl K8 received a nice new toy for christmas this year.

Its a 08 Yamaha WR250X. It was her first time riding a motorcycle. She did amazingly well, I am so proud of her.:D

Welcome to the Board!!!
Good idea to take a refresher......only as old as you feel..now get back in the water and dive your dreams!!!

I took one a few years back and recently (last weekend) sat through my girls OW classroom with her. I plan on getting back in the pool a couple of times next month and get my legs back under me.

I hear ya on being as old as you feel. I am 45 going on 25!:D

welcome aboard
