Beow is an interesting thread on Canon 710 vs 640, but I'll even start one level higher!

I am looking to purchase a U/W system real soon and am a bit overwehlmed by the choice.
I am looking for help to choose the following components:

1) camera: Also thought of 710A but got concerned reading the threads below. (No SLRi for the moment). Do not wnat too large of a camera but enough flexibility for the day I learn how to use it!
(This my first camera. The first oen was a Sony which flooded very (too) soon)

2) Casing. BAsed ont he thread below looks like Ikelite is better than Canon?? Other brand?

3) Strobe? What type of strobe too buy? Is slave ok or better go right away for electrnic driven (then the camera has to bea ble to do that)?
Long-term I want 2 strobes, but will start with one only...

And finally... Where can I find tis on settings to sue and ..not to use so I can have a small jump start with ym first pictures?

Thanks to all .

Jacques

Please have a look at the Pink Link in my signature. It has a good compilation of answers to your questions and is the perfect starting place when looking for a new system.

My personal recommendation is the Canon A series, though the Oly 350 with its RAW capabilities is a real contender, too.

Looks great. Just on time for week-end reading.:D
