cheers guys awsome advice will look into a couple of brands mainly ikelite and see if i can get them in australia, will also look at sea&sea see if i can find the right camera for me :)
 
Check out the Sticky for ideas on specific camera models, housings and links to images, views and opinions on various options. The sticky has a ton of great information culled from our members and popped into one easy to reference area. It should be a fabulous start as you head down the endless money pit that is underwater photography :)

Personally, I still like the Canon offerings with the Canon housings for getting started.

BTW I'm in WA, too, and am happy to help however I can. You WILL find that ordering from the US will be way cheaper and give you far more options :) Delivery is fast and as long as you keep it under $1000 you don't have to worry about getting done for extra fees on import. Just something to think about.
