I just started underwater photography and i am quite a new diver but have good buoyancy. I was wondering what camera to buy for first time.

There are at least 2 other threads with this same question on the first page of this forum. Search around and you should see the answers people give.

EDIT: Though i would recommend the Fuji E900 + Ikelite housing.

I can give you a few suggestions for entry level cameras.

First would be the Sea & Sea 750G. Its a compact 5mp camera and housing combo which retails for 499, takes fantastic pictures and has a variety of accessories. It is available in a strobe and strobe arm combo for just 749.

A step above that would be to go with the Sea & Sea DX8000, an 8mp camera and housing combo...or to go with a nice consumer digicam and get either a manufacturer's housing or an Ikelite housing and an extrenal strobe. If you do choose this route, there are a variety of options in similar price ranges...

Feel free to fire over any questions you may have or if you would like some sample package options and the positives/negatives of each gone over with you, send me a PM
