Hello my name is Will

I am new to diving I have got my OW card and have a few dives under my belt now I am looking at buying so gear so I thought I would start here to learn. I am looking at buying everything for a Rec Drive would need I don’t need top of the line. Or do I want the bottom of the junk pile. I am looking for something that will last and will take me pass my OW to more advance stuff. I am in the Navy and get a good amount of traveling in so I want to take the time I have in port to discover the Under water worlds of different places so I would like to know what kind of Certs I should go after to cover me on my travels.

Welcome to the board! The specialty certs are tailored to what you want to do as a Rec. Diver, so I suggest you look at the PADI pages for descriptions of each. As for what to do next, from what I've heard in my limited time learning about diving, I would suggest the Advanced OWD course. That allows you to be experienced enough to dive up to 100 feet or so, from what I understand.
Anyways, welcome to the boards.

Welcome to scuba and scubaboard. This is a good place to learn about gear there are many opinions on scubaboard. Some very strong ones so if they use the words best, greatest etc... they probably are really good.

New divers usually ask about BCs a lot here is a link:
