My husband and I are taking a trip with all my girlfriends and their husbands to celebrate our 40th bdays early. Not that old yet! My husband and I are not "lay on the beach all day" type of people. We want to scuba dive a lot and also do many other topside activities like zip lines, hiking, etc. Is there a place that you can recommend that has all-inclusive resorts but has great opportunities to dive in April? We were thinking of the Dominican republic or costa rico or other places in the Carribean? Can you help.

Dominica!!! We have Tons of Topside stuff to do. Hike to the Boiling lake, Zip Lining, Whale Watching, Surfing. Only problem I can See is that some of that stuff is up at 3,000 feet so you might need to take a day off diving to travel safely up in two the mountains. Although I have a DM that drives home to 3,000 fee every day and hasn't got hit yet. Check out Ft Yong hotel, and Anchorage for all inclusive deals.

Would you consider Cozumel? I've heard so many great things about it, as it's one of the best places to dive in Mexico. But other than diving, you might not be able to do all you desired activities topside.

Check out this review of a liveaboard in the Bahamas - http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/li...nd-voyages-bahamas-liveaboard-experience.html - apparently they got to explore and hike different islands while diving 3-5 times a day.

If you're going to the Dominican Republic, I'd recommend a resort in Bayahibe. That's where some good diving is located, though other Caribbean countries have better diving.

Give Dominica a try, I've heard great things. It's on my list.

Mexico. Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Cozumel. All will offer you access to world class diving, hiking, zip lines, Mayan ruins, Cenotes, nightclubs. Oh, and beaches.
