Hello, my name is Alan, and I'm a 30 year old diver from Toronto, Canada. Although I'm more active in the running circuit, being commited to a marathon among several other races every year, I also try to get a couple of dives in as well. The coolest (and warmest) dive so far for me was in the tropical Pacific off of Costa Rica. The most boring (but also the most geographically-significant) was at my cottage near Fenelon Falls, Ontario...it's at the highest pont on the planet reachable by boat wtihout ever leaving the water. I suppose I wouldn't mind something in between this time around.
So it is that I'm planning on some shipwreck diving in the Pelee Passage, between mainland Ontario and Ohio for this coming September 17th (running a half-marathon the following morning). I've been told that the currents around Point Pelee can become quite hazardous around that time of year. Has anyone been diving in the passage in September? Do you have any suggestions? Which company did you go with? Was it worth the cost? Thank you. I look forward to reading some replies.

I dove Pele a month ago. Viz in the slallows was 5-10 feet. Viz at 75' was better at 20 - 25 feet.

Welcome to scubaboard!!

Not there now tho. I'm on Utila Island Honduras this week, enjoying a great dive trip, but wanted to log on long enough to welcome new members. Glad you're with us here...

Yes, I've got one of those also, and she loves to cook. We got our open water certification together, but I think she's dropped out of diving for now. Besides, my fin straps have broken and I accidentally kicked my mask off a boat, so I'm borrowing her stuff for now.
