So you finnaly took the step into the world of diving. I hope you made the journey for the right reasons. As a former "newbie" I can tell you everyone was one at some time or another, so its ok. If you became a diver to go out and harvest corals and tropical fish? I hope that you do so in a legal and conservative way, such as only in areas permitted and in areas that there is a abundance and you wont be impacting the reef.
If you became a diver because you want to discover the beauty of the reef and its creatures then rejoice in its beauty and share all you see with others.Tell them about the different fish you see and the abundance of life on the reef. Eventually you wont be a newbie any more and you'll either realized that it would of been cheaper to buy fish for the Aquarium, or youll be making a trip to the local wal-mart getting 12 rolls of film developed every Monday. No matter what, I can assure you that you will always have a better dive if you remember why you made this trip and thank mother nature
for the oppurtunity in some way like removing trash or cutting away some old fishing line. Nobody will give you money or say wow! thats a beauty, but someone will always say where did you get that? Thats your Que to tell them why you started diving because no matter who this person is they must be a newbie, if you are on a boat and they ask you that!
This happened to me and the other diver was a Instructor, I just finished my final open water dive! Fortunately it wasnt my Instructor! I guess it doesnt matter how many certs you have we are all newbies! if you do not learn something everytime you are diving you're probably not a good diver or you have grown fins and gills and no longer have a use for dive gear!
