welcome dan50man to the world of diving. I got certified last sept at the splash dive center, 3260 Duke St, alexandria va, 7038237680, www.SplashDiveCenter.com. the flolks there are real nice, professional and helpful. i do not work for them. I took my initial training with them and will finish up my advance open water at the end of this month.

these are other places in no va, but i don't know anything about them. rt 1, 6300 richmond hwy, 7037653483; 9444 main st, fairfax, 703-425-7676; 3013 nutley st, fairfax, 7036987220; hope one of these places is near you. good luck with your training.

... let us know there are a bunch of people from the DC metro area on the board.

cornfed....I'm moving to St. Mary county, MD that's fairly close to Metro DC areas isn't it? Any diving clubs over there?

As for the original subject. Try going to www.padi.com and you can get the listing for all PADI affiliated dive shops in your country, state or if you have one in your town or neighboring town.

There is a shop in Soloman's Island called Sea Dive and Cycle. I stoped in there once and talked to them for a bit. I think they have a club but I'm not sure.

PM me if you want and I'll share what little I know about the area.

Crazed, St Mary's County is a bit to far south, really.

Maryland is a weird state. It's small but the layout can make it difficult to get from one part to another.
