bradt81...... I did my open water in Square lake in May. Very cold. It was right after ice out...literally the next day. I have family that lives a couple of blocks from the Scuba Center. I have been training with the nice folks over at A Divers World in Lakeville. Did my advanced open water with them in Lake Wazee in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

Ice out in May for Square Lake sounds way late to me. I would think it would be more like April. Now this year is a real exception with ice already gone from all area lakes including Minnetonka.

How did you like it over at A Divers World? I bought all of my equipment so far from there and they seem very helpful. I was already signed up over at Scuba Center for my classes so I stayed there.
