new to diving and scubaboard

Hello. Just wanted to introduce myself. I just completed my certification with my boyfriend and we've dove in folsom lake as well as Monterey, but are looking for other nearby lakes to get some more practice in. Any suggestions on good spots in northern california? I live near auburn, ca so anything within the 5o mile range from there would be great.
