I got OW certification last June prior to going to Hawaii. I live in South Florida where the sites and temperatures are great! Been out about 6 times, love it!!! Finally got my own gear as I am going back to Hawaii and looking forward to a long summer of diving in SFL.

Any advice out there on a wetsuit. Thought about a 2pc since heading out to Hawaii and also plan on doing a lot of diving in SFL. Feel more comfortable in a 3mm Full, but don't know if this is enough for Hawaii diving. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Welcome Scubahel! Well, up here in Indiana we're in the middle of a late season snowstorm as I type, so in my mind, diving in anything in South Florida sounds wonderful!

Argh! :frustrate No offense to the friendly greeters before me because I know you're just being friendly, but this drives me nuts on this board. We have a newbie asking a serious question, and the first six responses he gets are "Hi, Welcome!" messages -- and they all completely ignore his question. I'm all for greeting newbies and making them feel welcome, but how about *answering* them while you're at it?

ScubaHel, one man's 5mm is another man's diveskin, so it's hard to say how much wetsuit you'll need in HI, but it's likely to be colder there than SFL. Me, I'd buy what I need for my home-base diving and maybe rent in HI to see what works and then buy used if you're there for an extended trip.

Now that CHUD has answered you,:D
