Hello everyone. Just got involved in diving a few months ago and decided to get involved on scubaboard to meet some fellow divers. I am psyched about spearfishing and have already made a couple trips south to Florida. Looking forward to spending a lot of time underwater anywhere I can...

Welcome to the board, Florida is an active spearfishing location, with their own techniques and favored equipment. If you plan to dive at home, your gear selection may be different because of the different conditions. When you start diving in each new location, make a couple of dives without a gun. . . take some time to learn the fish and fish behavior before you take a predatory behavior. . . fish can tell when they are "hunted" and you won't learn their behavior as quickly. A few dives to learn the local conditions, and to visit with the local divers is time well spent.

If you haven't been there yet, click on the Forums button and scroll down the list of topics to the "Underwater Hunting" forum. . . There are divers from around the world, everyone does things a little different, read them all and make use of the best for your dive location.
