Hi Tobin!

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with my new setup. I got a great deal on a SS plate and wing (LCD30?) from another SB member who bought it and never used it. It is sleek and simple and I can't wait to get it into the water this weekend.

My only concern is that the plate is a medium and according to your site, I should be in a large. I am 6'1" so I am right on the edge of plate sizes. Do you think that this will be a big problem or is it something that I could live with?

Thanks!

Dane

At about 6' I start to recommend the large plate. There is however considerable overlap in the application.

Too short a plate will put the waist strap across your lower rib cage. Try it and see.

Hmm. After playing with the harness on land it looks like the top of the waist band touches the bottom part of my ribs. I will have to get it out into the water to be sure if it is actually going to be a problem or not. We will hopefully see this weekend!

Thanks for your quick responses!

for comparison i'm also your height and use a medium as do a bunch of other divers with similar builds, with singles or doubles. it will fit you great.

You need to get in the water. Plate position and harness adjustment has to be refined after getting into the water.

If your waist strap is still "high" you can pull it done a bit with the crotch strap.

Well after playing with it in the pool a little bit I am pretty sure it will work. I used your suggestion and used the crotch strap to pull down the waist band a little bit. Thanks Tobin!
