New scuba mask?

I think I got scratches in a mask from softscrub. I'd be leary of that.

Soft scrub is an abrassive. I'd still use toothpaste

I use Bon Ami on new masks all the time with no scratch problems. I recommend Bon Ami over toothpaste and soft-scrub.

From the look of your mask lenses in your avatar you must have used the strawberry scented Bon Ami...

Use comet with enough water to make a paste. Rub with finger until it squeaks. Do that all over the inside.

Yes, but it is more likely to be something like titanium dioxide. That is much finer than the calcium carbonate (think powered limestone) in most cleansers.
