Saw them at DEMA. They have a diaphragm and a piston reg. I wasnt impressed. I really liked how the sticker on the purge button kept falling off. Real classy setup they have there...

OMS has quite a history of advertising "new" gear that promises to be "leading edge". I've not been impressed with much of their gear at all. I'll spend my dollars on Halcyon or DiveRite for technical type gear.

I second that!

Depending on who you talk to OMS is either great or crap. (i.e.- bungeed wings of death). They do make decent stuff in my opinion. especially their new light. Their deco regs are even great. The new reg is supposed to me a top performer as mentioned. They are not yet out on the market. Like LUBOLD said, piston or diaphragm (piston is comingout first) with a swivel turret. It is environementally sealed with, you guessed it, cristo lube. Rumor has it that production was delayed.

In a sense I would agree. most would buy their gear from somewhere reputable. But when someone introduces something, someone has to be the guinea pig. One thing I will say is that I have never know OMS to introduce something of poor quality. If the product they are introducing does make it to the market, it is usually of excellent quality.

Erik,

I like OMS. My first peice of gear from OMS was the IQ coupled with the 45lb wing. Once they introduced the 32# single tank wing I switched to that - love it. I currently am diving a comfort harness with 6# SS BP and single wing (for singles obviously) and have been very pleased with it.

That being said, OMS has pissed me off plenty. Their seemingly constant backorders is rediculous. But in all fairness they have been improving and when the product does hit the market, its usually very good.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the new OMS reg, but know plenty of people have used their deco regs and are very pleased.
