FredT will sell you the webbing and all associated hardware, including the stainless steel buckle, for, IIRC, about $40.

BTW, for my money, I say OMS is only producing this "Halcyon-style" gear (harness, single tank wing, reel, etc) specifically because of the popularity of DIR. Their website specifically says this.

VTernovski once bubbled...
Oh well, at least they didn't get a brilliant idea to tile it on the harness webbing itself like Halcyon does. Have you seem those blue H's all along the new halcyon harnesses. this is ugly like hell.
It's actually not that bad... The H's below the D-rings are covered by the backup lights, and it's not sewn through so it is on the inside of the waistband. You only actually see one "H" on each shoulder above the D-rings.

I admit that it looks like crap in the dive shop.

ok, this is a final straw... I am officially done with OMS. you can find my harness on eBay now. If you read my previous posts in this thread, you will find little details that make this rig not DIR: buckle, crotch strap, and now, finally it came to the D-rings. The freaking things are so thick that it makes it a lot harder to clip anything to them in thick gloves. They sure do look nice on the surface though! I originally thought "those look solid! nice and thick, will hold a lot of weight, no problem!" right, but what does that have anything to do underwater where everything is more or less weightless. Counterintuitive thinking! so, I switched to a much thinner Halcyon D-rings and guess what - now, I have no problems clipping things on and off with one hand. So, I am sorry to declare this, but I don't think I will be buying anymore of the OMS products, as I have done in the past. I liked the company and supported it a lot, but now I am forced to abandon the ship as it just makes no sense for my type of diving now. sorry, just thought I had the right to vent my opinion on this subject, I realize there are alot of OMS followers out there, didn't mean to offend anybody. :mischief:

Yaaaaa! Good man-- OMS never gave customer service a second thought. I called them to ask a question and they said they dont talk to customers that I would have to talk to the region rep.

Anyways Why dont you just buy some webbing (15 feet or so) and make your own! Supper easy as I am sure you know. I have been diving with them for 10 years now. The only thing I buy harness wise is the crotch strap. I have a crap load of D-rings I will even give you 3 if you want (dont ask how I got them).

Have a good day!

I hate those H logos on the harness.. I personally think it's tacky.
Yeah, the new Halcyon webbing is really gay. They need to stop using it.

I thought it was horrid, but it's a lot less "gay" in real life.
