I think the market for housings will go the way of all other markets. Cheap, not as good, but sold by the millions even in niche markets. You can hear the ad "Why not buy a housing, for only $150 you can take it snorkelling or underwater to the beach or on your next holiday!"

I can see me buying a S/H EM5 in 3 years for $150 and putting it in a housing like this as a back up!
 
Ardy - that's exactly my point.
There has been a lot of cheap housings having trouble with always-pressed buttons when diving deep. And some leakages.
But basicly the cost of a housing is mainly for R&D and casting tools, there is no materials and production hours involved.
So if someone can bring up the sales, the housings could get cheaper. Reportedly, Meikon housings are getting trustworthy now.
