Greetings from a new member of the forum, but old diver to the underwater world.
My first introduction to Open and Closed Circuit SCUBA took place at the U.S. Navy
Underwater School, Key West, Florida in 1962. After serving in the Naval Special Forces
Units, I took a leave of diving, only to return in 1972. This time as a Skin and SCUBA
Diving Instructor. Since the early seventies, I've created and implemented community
based and College level dive classes in Chicago, IL, Los Angeles County, and South
Florida. In 1985, I served as consultant to the development of Miami-Dade Public
Schools' first Magnate School in Marine Sciences, MAST Academy. After a long career
as an Educator, I retired from teaching at the Secondary and Post Secondary levels,
and resigned myself to Community Development, Conservation and Underwater Archeology. Additionally, I would like to create a non-for-profit foundation and teach
inner-city youth about the underwater environment, using SCUBA. "Turn On To Aquatics"
