Biggest thing is definitely get a drysuit, I need winter dive buddies.

I escaped Bristol in 1971.
To quote Chris Berman, “The best view of Bristol is in your rearview mirror on your way out.”
My uncle in Plymouth had a Cessna 152 that we used to take to Fishers Island. Just taxi out to Race Point, spearfish, and fly on back to the airport in Meridan and get an apizza.
I always wanted to swim out to Race Rock but fortunately never did. Later on, a commercial fisherman told me the big boys made regular runs through the area and guys like Frank Mundus in Montauk would try to catch them.
22 years in Hawaii almost offset 11 years in Bristol.

Welcome! I'm in central FL. What kinds of places do you have to dive up there?

Lakes, ponds and the Atlantic. Lots of shore diving.

Hey guys,

Glad to be a new member here. I'm a diver from CT and willing to travel anywhere in the Northeast to dive. Always looking for good dive buddies for salt or fresh water. Who else is in the area?
Hello - quick follow up from an old thread, perhaps still active? I also am in the CT area (Watertown / Waterbury). Relatively new OW diver, however, fully geared up, capable, and looking to meet up with like-minded for local dives. My current scuba network / buddy system is limited - but hoping to expand this in the near future. I know there are plenty of good freshwater options close by (for quick day trips). But certainly not opposed to Salt either! Looking forward to future explorations.... cheers
