Welcome! Stop thinking about your "cold" water. Instead focus on that cruise you are going to take!! You'll find that properly equiped you can enjoy diving year round. Opens you up to take a lot of speciality classes--ie. drysuit, ice diver, etc.
Wish you guys the best. May be contacting you in the near future about dive sites in the NE.

The only thing I am nervous about is being cold on our OW dives. The ocean is currently 60F and getting colder! :11:

Chrissie,
If you ever decide to drive easr, let me know. We're a bunch of New Brunswickers who go regularly to Deer Island and Beaver Harbour. Just in case you're looking for something a little different from the usual.

Hi! I am new here. My husband and I are taking NAUI courses through a local dive shop in Portland, Maine. We both grew up around the water and are experienced snorkelers. We are going on a cruise at the end of October and decided to get certified for SCUBA. It is something that we have always wanted to do. I decided to purchase my husband lessons for our 2nd wedding anniversary which is Sept. 27th. We start lessons tomorrow evening. I can't wait! The only thing I am nervous about is being cold on our OW dives. The ocean is currently 60F and getting colder! :11:

Welcome aboard Chrissie. Glad to hear you are both learning to dive together.

Here's a suggestion for the cold water that will probably work............cold showers...........................together! ;)
