Any chance you guys have a beam comparison of the 700 LED versus the new LUX? Will it be possible to upgrade a 700 to the new specs?

Hi,

I don't have a chart at the moment, namely because it is best to measure these lights underwater vs. against a wall. Hmmmm...let me see if I can get you a better spec. I can tell you the new light is DARN BRIGHT...it is very noticeable the difference between the 700 and LUX.

You can upgrade your 700 to the LUX.

Let me get more information on the chart for you.

Thanks,
Kathleen

Hi,

Well, the simple answer (or the marketing answer) that you're looking for is the light is approximately 30% brighter. To the human eye, without getting into the science, it is significantly brighter. You can tell a difference and will appreciate the brighter LUX.

The beam comparison has always been a dodgy example because it doesn't show the true output of these lights, the optics of which perform underwater. In fact, if you put these two side by side on a wall at 10 feet like some do, the difference in brightness will be difficult to see due to the angle of the optics. Sorry...this is getting too technical and not what you're looking for.

The best example, is to ask your dealer if you can dive his light and do the comparison underwater.

I hope this is helpful somewhat.

Kathleen
